Perfecly Pawsh's owners were disgusted by the state of their competitors, they wanted a business that treated their furry clients and employees like royalty. So I sought to create my very first brand, one that would live up to their noble intentions. When Perfectly Pawsh opened it's doors, their clients were convinced they were doing business with a franchise. When in reality it was a couple ambitious dog groomers and an art student.
With little room in the budget for a campaign. I used what time I had left as a freelancer to develop tons of printed works Perfectly Pawsh could use for years to come. A Dog Salon needs to develop a reputation with the neighborhood it operates in, so we commissioned a series of road signs to be put up in the areas surrounding the salon. The police took them down shortly after we put them out, but the word got out and Perfectly Pawsh's team did the rest. The neighborhoods most likely to do business with Perfectly Pawsh were made aware of it's existence, the quality care they provided in the beginning fostered many long term clients. Who loved the online booking, branding, and stellar experience Perfectly Pawsh's team provided.
My mother graduated at the top of her class with a bachelors in accounting. At 19 she was managing the books of a law firm. Throughout my parents travels she had ample opportunities at many prestigious firms. But today handles the books of a local credit union. She opted to work for a company she was passionate about, instead of pursuing the biggest paycheck she could find.
I certainly wasn't up to anything special at age 19 but I do very much believe that who you work for is far more important than how much they're paying you. My education has empowered me to work as a Creative Communications professional for a variety of businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. I take great pride in my work and then craft the designs, copy, and code that will make it a reality.
Working for small nonprofit organizations requires one to wear "many hats," a talent I don't think I'll ever truly master, but it's a challenge I still very much enjoy taking on. Whether I'm developing long term brand strategies, enrolling our teams devices in an endpoint manager, shooting a commercial for new media, or cooking a hot meal for the team. I find far more purpose in my work (regardless of what it may be,) when I'm doing it for the little guys.
